Sustainable Skylines Launches Groundbreaking Drone Banner Advertising Over Miami Beach Skyline
In partnership with the Ad Council and the City of Miami, the Company Launches the First Full-size Banner Ad-Campaign Flown by a Drone
In partnership with the Ad Council and the City of Miami, the Company Launches the First Full-size Banner Ad-Campaign Flown by a Drone
Sustainable Skylines, the drone advertising and data analytics company, announced the launch of its airborne banner-towing operations. The first-of-its-kind inaugural flights flown along Miami Beach over the weekend featured an Ad Council banner ad for the nonprofit's campaign centered on raising awareness about the dangers of buzzed driving. As the first FAA-approved drone banner towing advertising company, Sustainable Skylines sets a new standard for sustainable, impactful, safe, and measurable out-of-home advertising.
Sustainable Skylines' eco-friendly drone technology minimizes pollution and eliminates the safety risks associated with traditional manned aircraft banner towing. Custom-made hybrid drones significantly reduce the environmental impact of aerial advertising, eliminating more than 90% of carbon emissions and 40% of noise pollution compared to airplanes. And because drones are highly automated, the very real risks aircraft pilots take to fly banners are eliminated.
Sustainable Skylines redefines brand visibility by offering advertising solutions in the world's most uncluttered airspace. Banner drones fly 100 feet lower than traditional planes, ensuring unparalleled message visibility for consumers. Drones also make banner advertising measurable. By utilizing anonymized cellular device data, advertising agencies and brand advertisers can accurately measure audience size and demographic segments, ensuring their messages reach the intended audiences with confidence.
"At the Ad Council, we are always seeking innovative ways to inspire action and drive change at scale. Our partnership with Sustainable Skylines allows us to raise awareness around the dangers of buzzed driving in a way that's both impactful and environmentally conscious," said Laurie Keith, VP, emerging media and technology at the Ad Council. "We're excited to be the first advertiser to use this ground-breaking technology, enabling us to reach new audiences in an eye-catching, sustainable way."
"Miami has always been a city that welcomes innovation, and today, we're excited to be leading the way in sustainability," said Miami Mayor Francis Suarez. "Replacing the banner towing planes with custom-made hybrid drones created by Sustainable Skylines will significantly reduce environmental and noise pollution."
Sustainable Skylines has achieved a significant milestone by receiving the first exemption and waiver enabling Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone banner towing operations. Granted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), this waiver allows the company to fly BVLOS of the pilot using strategically placed observers along the coastline.
"Launching our operations here in Miami is an exciting moment for us, and we couldn't be happier to partner with the Ad Council for this public health campaign," said Jacob Stonecipher, CEO of Sustainable Skylines. "This is a milestone for the advanced aviation industry and for the integration of drone technology into the national airspace. We offer brands a unique opportunity to leverage our innovative platform and connect with consumers through a safe and environmentally-friendly advertising medium."
Following a successful launch along Miami Beach, Sustainable Skylines will roll out nationwide, bringing its innovative approach to aerial advertising to brands across the country.
