HydroCorp Supports California Public Water Systems Under New Cross-Connection Control Regulations
Tailored solutions help ensure compliance with the Cross-Connection Control Policy Handbook and safeguard drinking water amid evolving requirements
TROY, MICHIGAN / ACCESS Newswire / February 10, 2025 / HydroCorp, the trusted leader in water safety and compliance for public water systems, hospitals, and industrial facilities, is providing support for California water systems to ensure compliance with the Cross-Connection Control Policy Handbook (CCCPH) that took effect in July 2024.
The CCCPH expands on the requirements of Title 17 and includes provisions requiring hazard assessments of all water service connections and the implementation of a cross-connection control plan for all California public water systems. Plans must be submitted to the California State Water Resource Control Board by July 1, 2025. Additionally, the CCCPH will introduce a stricter backflow prevention assembly tester certification process over the next several years.
"As California's regulatory landscape continues to evolve, HydroCorp will work with public water systems throughout the state to provide impactful support and help ensure safe drinking water in these communities," said HydroCorp CEO Chris Spain. "HydroCorp's experts understand the requirements of the California Cross-Connection Control Policy Handbook and know how to enable our customers to meet them ahead of the upcoming deadline with tailored, comprehensive programs and services."
HydroCorp's presence in California and partnership with public water systems across the state help to protect drinking water through effective implementation of comprehensive cross-connection control programs, including:
Developing a compliant cross-connection control plan in partnership with all key stakeholders
Drafting updated ordinance language to ensure enforceability
Facilitating on-site or customized cross-connection hazard assessments based on need
Managing backflow preventer test tracking and verifying tester certifications
Managing water customer postal notifications and toll-free customer support
Supporting public awareness and education initiatives through expert-led materials
As more elements of the CCCPH begin to take effect in 2025 and beyond, HydroCorp is committed to providing the support needed in communities throughout California.
